The book shows a variety of cutting edge patterns for surface design concentrating on line, shape and color palette. Tach of the original patterns was reworked 6 times to get patterns with different tones or hues from light to dark, from cold to warm from contrast to harmony, which allows the reader to compare different effects through changing colour schemes, then understand that every colour can produce a variety of tones 'how they seem depends on what's going on around them' and how to select perfectly matching color combinations and so on.
